Harper students and alumni win at the National Arable and Grassland awards 2023

This year’s National Arable and Grassland awards were held last night - and Harper students and alumni were strongly represented.

We previewed the awards with this piece, and three of the four nominees won their respective categories.

BSc (Hons) Agri-Food Marketing with Business graduate Emily McGowan, from Country Down, was named Young Farmer of the Year

The first winner of the 2023 is Emily McGowan of Mill Bank Farm – the Young Farmer of the Year! Congratulations Emily and thank you to award collector Jill Hewitt.

Harper Adams Masters graduate Alice Andrews was named Young Agronomist of the Year.

The winner of the Young Agronomist of the Year accolade is Alice Andrews of Ceres Rural. Congratulations Alice on your fantastic win and thank you to UPL for sponsoring this award.

And finally, current BSc (Hons) Agriculture with Crop Management student Eleanor Gilbert joined her stepfather Dan Willis onstage as their family company FC Cummins and Sons took the Oilseed Grower of the Year award.
