Graduation 2015 prize-giving: Worshipful Company of Woolmen medal

A research project focussing on sheep diets helped Welshpool woman Sarah Powell secure a bursary and a medal when she graduated from ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ at the end of September. 

Sarah, 23, from Berriew, won a bronze medal from the Worshipful Company of Woolmen and the Jeremy Marshall bursary, in recognition of the quality of her Honours Research Project entitled “The relationship between live weight, body condition score and ultrasound estimates of body composition in ewes offered either high or low dietary protein”.  

Sarah is currently employed by ACT (Agricultural Central Trading) and is gaining a deeper insight into the commercial side of the animal feed industry. Her career aspirations lie within ruminant nutrition, with an ultimate aim of becoming a technical ruminant nutritionist. 

Sarah graduated from Harper Adams with a BSc (Hons) degree in Animal Science.
