Graduation 2015 prize-giving: Norman Gill Crop Science Undergraduate Award

23-year-old Laura Bishop, from Folkestone, Kent, receives the Norman Gill Crop Science Award for “outstanding performance in the areas of plant and crop science” during the ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ graduation in September 2015.

Presenting the award, Dr Martin Hare said: “The Norman Gill Prize is for the best piece of work in the area of crop production or crop science. This year it is awarded to Laura Bishop for her excellent honours research project. In her project Laura investigated the effects of different fungicide chemistries on green leaf area duration and its subsequent effects on yield and quality in winter wheat. 

“Laura produced her field data whilst on placement with Syngenta and we are grateful to Syngenta for helping Laura in this way. Laura’s project contributed to obtaining a First Class Honours degree in Agriculture and she is now working for Plant Impact as a Research Scientist.”
