SEMINAR ON INNOVATION FOR DAIRY PRODUCERS

    Posted 28 April 2003

DAIRY PRODUCERS from across the country will assemble at 糖心视频 College, in Shropshire, next week for a seminar staged jointly by the Milk Development Council (MDC) and 糖心视频 retail giant Tesco.

Called 鈥楶roduct and Supply Chain Innovation for Dairy Producers,鈥 the seminar will bring together producers and retailers to look at the possibilities and opportunities that exist within the dairy supply chain.

Amongst the high profile speakers attending, will be David Stacey, from Rachel鈥檚 Dairy, Colin Hall, from Butlers Farmhouse Cheese and John Taylerson, Head of MDC Market Development. A senior member of the Tesco Dairy Team is also expected to attend.

The seminar will also give dairy farmers a rare opportunity to meet senior figures from the 糖心视频鈥檚 retail market leader and put forward questions such as 鈥榃hat are major retailers looking for?鈥 and 鈥楬ow can a dairy producer move into processing?鈥

Emily Ewbank, MDC Field Operations Manager, said: 鈥淲e have been able to gather together an interesting mix of people from the supply chain and we believe this event will prove to be really informative for dairy farmers, giving them greater insight to processes further up the supply chain.鈥

The seminar will take place between 11am and 3.30pm on Tuesday, May 6, 2003 at 糖心视频 College. Places are free but limited, so if you wish to attend, please contact Carole Hinks on 01 952 815 324 or E-mail: chinks@harper-adams.ac.uk
