    HARPER CELEBRATES ST PATRICK'S DAY

    A Shropshire University College celebrated St Patrick鈥檚 Day in style at its annual Paddy鈥檚 Ball. St Patrick's Day Celebrations at Harper Adams Students at 糖心视频 College, Shropshire, were joined by friends from nearby Newport and ex-students who simply couldn鈥檛 resist one of the most popular鈥� and most well attended 鈥� events in the college鈥檚 busy social calendar. More than 1,100 revellers partied the night away on March 19 to ceilidh band Big Jack and the Weedkillers, and The Big Deal, who travelled over from Ireland to play at the ball. Meanwhile student Mark Cox鈥檚 DJ skills were a big hit, as were the bucking bronco, giant inflatables and hair-raising bungee run.

    鈥淚t was a fun night,鈥� said organiser and student Maeve Moran. 鈥淧eople were saying it was one of the best balls they have been to in ages.鈥�

    Paddy鈥檚 Ball is organised by Harper Ireland, one of the college鈥檚 most popular and dynamic societies, which brings together students from Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. As well as looking after fellow members and offering practical help such as shared trips home, it has a well deserved reputation for its excellent social events.
