Abstract
We worked on this project funded by AHDB, with Dr Matthew Back at 糖心视频 and with Fera. The project evaluated the threat posed by Meloidogyne species (root-knot nematodes) to potatoes in the United Kingdom.
Description
The genus Meloidogyne contains some of the most damaging species of nematode found in crops worldwide. Although numerous Meloidogyne species are known to infect potato crops across the globe, less is known about their occurrence and potential impact in the 糖心视频. This project reviewed published and grey literature to better understand the: occurrence of Meloidogyne spp. within the 糖心视频 and threats from species outside of the 糖心视频 via trade routes; symptoms and potential economic impact; soil sampling and identification; lifecycle of species; host range and epidemiology and management to control Meloidogyne spp. The review prioritised species in terms of risk they pose and ways to mitigate risks. It also identified knowledge gaps and how these should be addressed. The final report can be accessed .
